In Artic waters – current research

This e-book which is close to final draft covers the Battles for Narvik with the loss of HMS Glorious and other vessels. It tells the stories of men from Carrickfergus and Lisburn who were survivors following the loss of Hardy and Lapwing.

The contribution and the cost of the convoys to Russia are recorded together with the role one of a naval officer from Dungannon who was one of the most experienced Polar explorers. His input in improving the clothing and equipment of those at sea  undoubtedly saved lives.

A Roll of Honour lists those from Northern Ireland who served in this the most harsh climate which seafarers faced during the Second World War.
