1918

+MAGILL, James
9th Royal Irish Fusiliers (formerly 1805 North Irish Horse). Private. 41435. Died 06/06/1918, aged 25, while a POW due to friendly fire during a French air raid on Ham. Confirmed by an entry in German records. Son of Dyas (or Dias), a greengrocer, and Catherine (sometimes called Cassandra, a maid) Magill, of 25, Springwell St, Ballymena. James had been a pork cutter and then a railway labourer in his prewar life. Ham British Cemetery, Muille-Villete.
