RAF. Aircraftman, 1st Class (Wireless Operator). 625299. Died 11/06/1940. Age 19. 220 Sqdn. He was on board a coastal command aircraft, Hudson P5127, which got into difficulties after take off and dived into the ground one mile north of Thornaby, Yorkshire. Son of William and Ethel Victoria Irvine (nee Appleby), Doorless, Tullyhogue, Cookstown. Thornaby-on-Tees Cemetery, North Yorkshire
