Yesterday at Kohima War Cemetery in Nagaland, India, a special service of Commemoration took place to mark the start of the Battle of Kohima in 1944. The Duke of York, Patron of Kohima Educational Trust, laid a wreath during a visit to the site in 2012.

RN. Able Seaman. C/SSX 13199. HMS Whirlwind. Died 05/07/1940. Age 30. Son of Robert Alexander and Agnes Clendinning, Riverside, Glenavy, Lisburn and Whitehead.
