An excellent account of 2nd Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers at the Battle of Festubert is to be found in Michael Nugent’s ‘It Was An Awful Sunday’, published by Reveille Press in 2015. Michael’s great-uncle James Nugent was among the dead and is mentioned in the Roll of Honour above; he was only 17.
