In 1915 men from throughout NI are hard hit in Gallipoli. They include the C of I minister’s son from Magherafelt and William Neill who worked for the well-known Charley family at Dunmurry. In 1918 the cost of the final push of the war is being paid. They include North Irish Horse from Downpatrick and Dungannon. Edward Sinton’s entry is enlightening. In 1943 a WRNS serving on HMS Caroline dies of TB at home in Belfast. Five NI men in two ships are lost in 1944.
