September 30 – First North Irish Horse officer killed in WW1. Roll of Honour

Today’s Roll includes Barrie Combe, the first North Irish Horse officer killed in WW1, three brothers from Killyleagh, and a RAFVR member of 502 (Ulster) Squadron. On this day in 1938, British prime minister Neville Chamberlain returned from a meeting with Hitler in Munich and promised “peace for our time.” In less than a year, the world will be at war.
