
Thomas Malcolmson Greeves was a son of a well-known Belfast linen family. He served with the Friends Ambulance unit before joining the RNAS. He died in a plane crash this day in 1917. Two Dungannon men also died that day near Jerusalem. Thomas Anderson from Coleraine is today’s veteran. His naval experiences in WW2 range from Norway to North Africa and being present at the sinking of Bismarck. He became a POW when he was running Marines ashore at Tobruk and his ship HMS Zulu was bombed. Father of the late Robert, Bann pilot and Harbour Master at Portrush.
