February 24. Inniskillings in Tunisia. Roll of Honour

Edward Dalton was one the pioneers of civil aviation in Ireland. He served with the Royal Flying Corps in WW1. William Boal DCM served with the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers in WW1. Both died in service with the Fleet Air Arm in WW2 on this day in 1942. This day in 1943 was a tough one for 6th Btn Inniskilling Fusiliers in Tunisia. Serjeant Ernest Reid from the Waterside, Londonderry was a fatality. Both WW1 Veterans remembered today are from Portstewart. Charles Bacon served as a naval gunner, and James McCready was with Canadian forces. Both are commemorated in the town. Photo – Fossvogur Cemetery Iceland.
