December 21. Royal Marine’s oustanding record in WW2. Roll of Honour

Photo – Sangro River War Cemetery, Italy where rest the remains of Lance Corporal William McBride from Broughshane, who served with the Corps of Military Police, 1st (Airborne) Div. In 1915 James Henry from Coleraine fell serving with the London Regiment. Arol Gage from Rathlin was lost in HMS Bagshot in 1939. Today’s veteran is Thomas Maxwell from Belfast and Newtownards who served with the Special Boat Squadron of the Royal Marines, seeing action from the Kola Peninsula in the Arctic to Malta, India, and Burmah.
