Joseph Francey, a Field Gunner from Ballymena, was awarded the DCM in 1916. Henry McGowan from Portstewart died in WW1 serving with the Royal Marine Light Infantry. In 1942 James McAlister from Bushmills died in a submarine off Newfoundland and the same day in Lybia Newtownards Gunners Alex Davison and David McClinton fell.
