
Four SAS men from NI were murdered by the Gestapo in France on this day in 1944. They were L/Cpl Lutton from Armagh, Thomas Barker from Cookstown, Joe Walker from Moira, and William Young from Randalstown. On the same day, James Bingham and Alex Clarke died with the Belfast Gunners in Burmah and two Belfast men, Robert Creighton and Desmond Willy were lost when HMS Trollope was torpedoed off France.
