
A guitar became a memorial of friendship between NI pilots Noel Corry, Sydney Ireland, George Calwell, and their colleagues. RBAI, a Belfast school, had seven former pupils in “The Few”. In WW1 Hayden Floyd, a doctor’s son from Kilkeel died with the Royal Flying Corps in 1916. In WW2 Reggie Morgan an officer with the Royal Ulster Rifles died at Sainte-Honorine in Normandy in 1944. Those of “The Few” who were lost and have no known grave are now commemorated by CWGC on the Runnymede Air Forces Memorial along with over 20,000 men and women of the Air Forces.
