
William Morton played hockey for Banbridge and Ireland. He died in 1916. He was with a ration party bringing up supplies to the front line which was hit by a shell. Henry McCracken, a Royal Flying Corps pilot from Belfast died in 1916. He is remembered at Kantara War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt. Matthew Hagan from Coagh, a former North Irish Horse trooper, contracted malaria and died in 1918 while serving in Palestine. In 1944 Anthony Tuohy, a Royal Ulster Rifleman, died fighting for the liberation of the Netherlands. He is remembered at Overloon War Cemetery.
