February 26. Spike Milligan served in tough times alongside Royal Ulster Rifles. Roll of Honour

Three riflemen Charles Hamilton from Shantallow, David Scott from Lisburn, and William Ruddock from Belfast, serving in the Royal Ulster Rifles, London Irish Rifles, died in an attack in Tunisia, this day in 1943. Thomas Mulvenna from Ballymena is named on the Rangoon Memorial. Four of his brothers were serving in the forces. Today’s veteran is Geoffrey Hemming, an aviator in both wars with the RNAS and then the RAF. He was a WW1 flying ace credited with six aerial victories. He was awarded the DSC.
