March 16. Female fatalities in RAF and nursing. Roll of Honour

Two women are named in today’s Roll. Sister Rosa McGibbon from Lurgan served in the Queen Alexandra’s Imperial Military Nursing Service and died as a result of her deployment in WW1. Barbara Blakiston-Houston from Killyleagh, a Section Officer in the WAAF, died in a WW2 flying accident. Their graves are in their home churchyards. In 1941 three Royal Ulster Riflemen died in a road accident near Antrim. William Henry Irwin from Bangor served in both world wars with the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.
