In today’s Roll of Honour – Samuel Gray from Coleraine died serving with Highland Light Infantry in 1915. A medical student, John Bill, son of Qua Iboe missionaries, fell in 1917 serving with Royal Irish Rifles during the Battle of Langemarck (Third Ypres). He is remembered at Tyne Cot, QUB and RBAI. Twenty year old Seaman John Gordon who died in 1943 is remembered on Ballymoney War Memorial. Today’s veterans are William Richmond of the North Irish Horse who survived WW1. Six sons of the McAtamney family of Carrickfergus served in WW2. Bobby, a Petty Officer, survived the First Battle of Narvik in 1940 when his ship was sunk.
