
14 of the names in today’s Roll are men who fell in the costly rearguard action to Dunkirk in 1940. William Rankin, an Irish Guardsman from Enniskillen, died in the Narvik operation of 1940. Edmund Robinson of Lisburn died in HMS Orion during the evacuation of Crete in 1941.
