Ted Chapman from Wales survived the Belfast Blitz with his sweetheart. They married and he won the VC in Germany. Read their story. James McFadden from Dungannon died serving with the Parachute Regiment in Sicily in 1943. Royal Ulster Rifleman James Moffett from Ballynahinch died in Normandy in 1944. He had ten years’ service. Today’s Roll includes eight WW1 Royal Navy veterans. Also in today’s Veterans Roll is Gunner Thomas Gamble from Coleraine who served with the Middle East Forces in the Western Desert, Egypt from 09/09/1940 – 10/12/1943, including The Battle of El Alamein 1942.
