Portrush born, Joseph Irwin Cunningham, RNVR. Surgeon Lt. Cmdr. MBE (Military), graduated MB BCh from QUB in 1938.

General Sir James Stuart Steele, Inst and Queen’s OTC, served in both world wars and in 1939 his hand signed the mobilisation order for GB forces.
