November 10. Queen’s University War Memorial re-dedicated. Roll of Honour

Among those remembered today, is Trevor Bennet MC, an Royal Irish Rifles officer who had taken part in the advance on Theipval and died in aerial combat serving with the Royal Flying Corps. He is remembered at Hermies Hill British Cemetery, Pas De Calais, France and RBAI WM in Belfast. Thomas Beggs from Ballyeaston died serving with Canadian Infantry in 1917. He is remembered at Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium, Ballyclare WM and Kilbride Presbyterian Church RH. Henry Ewart an Orangeman from Muckamore was a WW1 POW. Viscount Stuart from Stewartstown died serving in the Royal Armoured Corps in north Africa in WW2. On this day in 1950 the War Memorial at Queen’s University was re-dedicated by the then Vice Chancellor, Field-Marshal Viscount Alanbrooke, marking the addition of the names of the fallen in World War II to those of the Great War.
