Today’s roll includes Robert Wright, QUB OTC and a Royal Irish Rifles officer, killed in the Third Battle of Gaza, in which General Allenby liberated Jerusalem. Robert Wright is commemorated on Fitzroy PC WM, and RBAI WM. Thomas Cochrane from Cullybackey served with the Canadians, Frederick Ewing from Magherafelt served with the Australian Infantry and John Bell’s parents lived in British Columbia and he is remembered at Holywood WM and Helen’s Bay C of I WM. Two of the six RAF fatalities from WW2 were accidents in flight training. Two are remembered at Ambon War Cemetery, Indonesia and Colombo (Liveramentu) Cemetery, Sri Lanka
